There is a room in the house that still holds half the memories, and no funeral was ever held for what died there. Divorce grieves like a death, the loss of a shared future and of a name for your days. God does not meet you in that room with a lecture. He meets you the way He met exiles who believed their story was over, saying "Behold, I will do a new thing." Wilderness is exactly where He builds roads, and desert is precisely where He opens rivers. Grieve what was; that grief is legitimate. Then lift your eyes an inch, because "now it shall spring forth." Your story did not end at the signature. The God of new things has never been finished with anyone who handed Him the pen.

Lord, You see the ruins and the wilderness. Do Your new thing in me: heal what's torn, and make a way where I can't see one. Amen.
