Easter

For when you feel: easter, resurrection, he is risen, easter morning

He is not here; He has risen, just as He said! Come, see the place where He lay.
Matthew 28:6 · BSB

The MinuteSermon

The women came at dawn, ready to tend a body, and found an angel sitting where the problem should have been. "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said." Hold that last phrase, as he said. The resurrection was not a surprise recovery; it was a kept appointment, and every other promise He ever made is now backed by the same collateral. If Christ is risen, then death is a defeated bully, the debt is paid, and every grave your people have wept beside is temporary housing. So let this morning be more than a spring tradition. Let the news be news again. The worst thing that ever happened became the best thing that ever happened. He is risen. He is risen indeed.

A prayer for this moment

Risen Lord, You kept the appointment death couldn't cancel. Roll every stone off my heart today, and let me live like the tomb is empty, because it is. Amen.
