Far From Home
For when you feel: new city, moved away, homesick, missing family
Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

The boxes are half unpacked and the streets have no memories in them yet. Joshua knew a version of this ache. He stood on the far side of a river, facing a land where he knew no one, and God gave him a promise built to travel: "the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." God did not say the new place would feel like home quickly. He said that home, in the deepest sense, was coming along. Your zip code changed, but your Father's address didn't, and He was in this city before your boxes arrived. Homesickness is a compass too; it points at how well you loved and were loved. Carry that, and remember the God who "setteth the solitary in families" has done it in stranger places than this.

Father, You crossed this river before I did. Be my home until this place becomes one, and set me among new family. Amen.
