For a Scared Child
For when you feel: my child is afraid, kid's nightmares, first day fears, calm my child

The nightlight is on, and the small voice from the bed says they're scared. You have eight words to hand them, small enough for a small heart to hold: "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee." Notice the verse never says if. David wrote it while captured by his enemies, and Scripture simply assumes fear will come, even for kings. That honesty is a gift you can pass along tonight. Being afraid isn't bad; it's the signal to run to Someone bigger. Teach it as a trade. When I feel scared, I give it to God and He holds it. Say it together at the bedroom door, before the drop-off, during the storm. Every giant-facer in the Bible learned this small, and your child is learning it now.

Father, hold my child tonight. Make Your bigness real to their small fears, and plant this verse where it will grow for life. Amen.
