The MinuteSermon

The test is done and the phone has not rung yet, and in that space the mind keeps writing endings, a hundred of them before the call comes once. Scripture describes another way to wait: "his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD." Fixed, not on a guaranteed outcome, but on a Person whose goodness does not hinge on the results. When the psalm says "he shall not be afraid of evil tidings," it is describing a heart so anchored that even hard news cannot unseat it. The news is not in charge. Whatever the call brings, it will find you held. So fix your heart there, and let the medical team do their work while your Father does His.

A prayer for this moment

Lord, my heart wants to race ahead of the results. Fix it on You instead. Whatever the news, You will still be good, and I will still be Yours. Amen.
