Longing for a Child
For when you feel: infertility, trying to conceive, empty arms, Mother's Day hurts
Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him. ... Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah
The MinuteSermon
In the temple at Shiloh, a woman prayed so raw and so wordless that the priest thought she was drunk. Hannah was not drunk. She was pouring out her heart, exactly what this psalm invites, and heaven received every unfiltered word. If you carry this longing, the aching months, the announcements that sting, the hope you are afraid to feel again, know first that God is not offended by its intensity. He asks for it. "Pour out your heart before him," the psalm says, because "God is a refuge for us." We will not pretend to promise what only God can give. But your tears are seen, your prayers are kept, and no path God writes for you, whatever it holds, leads away from His goodness.

A prayer for this moment
Father, You saw Hannah and You see me. I pour out this whole heart before You (the hope, the hurt, all of it) and I rest my expectation on You. Amen.
