When It's Good
New Job / Graduation
For when you feel: got the job, graduating, new chapter, starting Monday
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish for us the work of our hands—yes, establish the work of our hands!
The MinuteSermon
The offer letter is signed, or the diploma is still in its envelope, and Monday is coming. Before it arrives, borrow a prayer from Moses. He was eighty when he prayed it, his résumé full of detours, and still he asked God for the boldest thing a worker can ask: "establish thou the work of our hands." Make it stick. Make it matter longer than we will. Celebrate the credential and the title today; they're real gifts, and they trace back to a real Giver. But the establishing never transfers to you. In every role you'll ever hold, God is the one who makes work outlast the worker. Beauty on you, purpose on the work, God over both. That's the send-off. Go.

A prayer for this moment
Lord, thank You for this open door. Let Your beauty be on me and establish the work of my hands: make what I do matter for longer than I can see. Amen.
