Starting Over (Again)
For when you feel: relapsed, failed again, back to square one, broke my streak
Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up; but the wicked stumble in bad times.

Morning again, and the first thought through the door is the old accusation. You said this time would be different, and here you are at the beginning again. But listen to how Scripture counts it: "a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again." The rising is the righteousness. And the supply that makes rising possible arrives on schedule, mercies "new every morning," made fresh because God knew you would need today's batch today. The enemy's favorite arithmetic is counting your falls; heaven counts your risings. This morning is not a continuation of last night's failure. It is a delivery of new mercy with your name on it. Take it, stand up, and do the next small right thing.

A prayer for this moment
Faithful God, Your mercies are new this morning and I need this morning's. Lift me to my feet again, and let my risings outnumber my falls. Amen.
