When It's Good

Sunday Morning

For when you feel: going to church, before worship, Sunday, preparing my heart

A song of ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."
Psalm 122:1 · BSB

The MinuteSermon

Coffee in one hand, keys in the other, and the drive to church still ahead of you. Long before parking lots, pilgrims sang this psalm on the climb toward Jerusalem: "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD." Glad, not obligated. The song belonged to the road itself, and that's the Sunday secret it hands us. Worship goes better for hearts that warm up on the way. So begin before you arrive. In the car, at the closet, over breakfast, remind your soul what's actually happening today. You're going to meet with the living God, alongside people He is knitting you to. Walk in glad, and gladness has a way of finding what it came for.

A prayer for this moment

Lord, make me glad on the way to Your house. Prepare my heart before the first song, and meet us there, meet *me* there. Amen.
